Transliteration:

Alḥamdu-lillāhi-l-ladhī aṭʿamanī hādhā wa razaqanīhi min ghayri ḥawlim-minnī wa lā quwwah.

Tirmidhi 3458

Significance:

This dua highlights our dependency on Allah’s provision. It reminds us that we are not capable of earning or providing for ourselves without Allah’s help. By saying this dua, we show appreciation for the food we consumed, acknowledging that it was Allah who made it possible for us to receive and enjoy the meal. We highly recommend you memorise this dua and benefit from the forgiveness of all your sins inshallah!

Arabic:

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مُسْلِمِيْنَ.

Transliteration:

All praise is for Allah, who has fed us and given us drink and made us Muslims.

In this dua, we not only thank Allah for the food and drink we consumed, but also for the most significant blessing of all—being guided to Islam. It serves as a reminder that the material provisions we enjoy are secondary to the ultimate blessing of being part of the Muslim Ummah.

Reciting these duas before and after eating is a way to express gratitude to Allah for His countless blessings. These simple yet powerful supplications help us remain mindful of Allah’s presence in our daily lives and ensure that we always appreciate the provisions He grants us.

May Allah continue to provide us with halal sustenance and make us among those who are constantly grateful for His blessings.
