The Global Water Crisis: A Call for Action

The global water crisis is a stark reality, with 771 million people lacking clean water and women and girls dedicating an estimated 200 million hours daily to water retrieval. The average woman in rural Africa embarks on a 6-kilometre journey daily to fetch water, while over 800 children under 5 perish daily due to waterborne diseases. The United Nations aims to universalise clean water and sanitation access by 2030 through Sustainable Development Goal 6.

Sadaqah Jariyah: A Continuous Charity

Investing in a Water Well, Community Water System, or Borehole to facilitate struggling communities accessing clean water embodies Sadaqah Jariyah (continuous charity). This act of charity not only garners rewards in this life but also promises multiplied rewards in the hereafter, per Allah's assurance.

The Prophet (Peace be Upon Him) said: “When a man passes away, his good deeds will also come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)” (Narrated by Abu Hurairah, Sahih Muslim).

Ensuring Transparency and Quality

Upon the well’s completion, we uphold transparency by sharing a comprehensive report, including the exact location, number of beneficiaries, photographs, and more. Furthermore, you can personalise a plaque on the well, by providing the name in the "on behalf of" section when making the donation.

Maintenance and Quality Assurance

MAA prioritises the maintenance of water wells and systems, conducting training sessions with local communities on system maintenance and providing contacts for part replacements. Additionally, we ensure all water is tested for potability before initiating construction.
